MORE THAN A HUNDRED CLASSROOMS IN KORONADAL SUFFERED MAJOR DAMAGES AFTER 3 CONSECUTIVE OCTOBER EARTHQUAKES

After the October 31, 2019 quake schools in Koronadal City Division already felt the wrath of the disaster. At present, there are already 129 classrooms that were inspected and declared to have suffered major damage. Koronadal Central Elementary School 2, which is the oldest and the first school in Koronadal had the most number of damaged classrooms which totaled to 31 classrooms as of the moment.

According to Jimboy de Pedro, "most of the damaged school buildings were those built 50 years and above. However, there were few new buildings which suffered major damages and unsafe to use. One of which was Marbel 1 Central Elementary School in Brgy. Gen. Paulino Santos, he added.

Reports are still coming in to the Division Disaster and Risk Management office and the number of damages is expected to rise.
